President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Thursday attend
a presidential retreat on financing, infrastructure and health and a summit of the East African Community (EAC) member states in Uganda.
According to Manoah Esipisu, the Statehouse spokesman the head of state will hold the retreat before attending the EAC summit on Friday.
Esipisu said on his way back on Saturday, Uhuru will stop over in Busia to inaugurate the one-stop-border facility in the town.

It will also be Uhuru's first stop in the Western region after he was sworn in for the second term.
Esipisu said affordable health for all is one of President Kenyatta’s Big Four commitments in his second term, alongside affordable housing, enhanced manufacturing and value addition as well as food security and nutrition.
"President Kenyatta will showcase the progress Kenya has made in investments in infrastructure over the last five years, unveil plans for further investment in this area, and emphasise his commitment to a more integrated approach in infrastructure development for the region," Esipisu said.
The President will also make the point that it was no longer viable for East Africa to build infrastructure with a silo-mentality.
"President Kenyatta will urge greater speed in implementing projects, with a sharp focus on continuing the agenda of promoting the free movement of people across EAC and the wider African continent. The President sees enhanced people-to-people contact as key to improving trade, growing regional economies and lifting the lives of citizens," he said.
According to Esipisu, Uhuru will also speak on Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) arrangements between the EAC and the European Union. President Kenyatta will outline Kenya’s path in the arrangements and what he sees as the future in cementing sustainable trade relations between the region and the EU.
