Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo's name has been gazetted as a candidate in Thursday's repeat presidential election.
This negates the September 13 decision by the
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to strike off his name from the
October 26 fresh poll.
Jirongo was removed from the ballot after the court on
October 9 declared him bankrupt following a Sh700 million debt.
Article 137 of the Constitution bars a person declared bankrupt from running for the presidency.
However, Jirongo challenged the decision by Justice Olga Sewe
to declare him bankrupt.
He argued that he was not served with a petition that led to the bankruptcy judgment.

order.
Fortunately for the IEBC, Jirongo's name was already in the ballot papers which arrived in the country last weekend.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, Mohammed Abduba Dida, Michael Wainaina, Joseph Nyagah, Japhet Kaluyu and Ekuru Aukot are the other seven contestants.
