Uganda's New Vision names building after The Star's William Pike

Uganda's New Vision has honoured The Star's Director of Convergence

William Pike by naming a Kampala building after him.

The media outlet will be headquartered at Pike House.

The convergence director was honoured for serving Vision Group as its first managing director.

By the time he left the company after working for 27 years, New Vision's annual turnover was about

$18 million (Sh1.85 billion) while annual profits amounted to more that $2 million (Sh206.5 million).

Pike was the agency's editor-in-chief and managing director from

1986 to 2006, making it one of the leading and most profitable newspapers in Uganda.

He left for Kenya to start The Star in 2007.
