An Administration Police officer was shot dead on Friday night in a pub in Ngong during an argument over a woman.
Witnesses said the officer and his colleague for into an argument over a woman called Carol, with each claiming to have been involved with her.
The AP insisted he is Carol's "legal owner", prompting his colleague to pull a pistol and shoot him twice in the chest.
Ngong OCPD George Seda said the culprit has been detained as police investigate the matter.
"We have moved the body of the slain officer to City Mortuary for postmortem," he said.
