Young people will lead in resolving the pervasive problems that Africa faces, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has said.

“Youth-friendly healthcare systems that respect the needs of youth and the core values of our communities are critical to empowering this generation and securing socio-economic and political stability for the future,” she said.

Kenyatta spoke at the opening of the two-day Africa Health Agenda International 2017 Youth Pre-Conference in Nairobi.

She said one of the goals that the continent must share is the idea of an inclusive and responsive healthcare system that caters to the needs of all people, including the youth.

Kenyatta and Malawi First Lady Dr Gertrude Mutharika said youth should be involved in decision making, especially on health and education.
