Senator Anyang' Nyong'o on Tuesday asked IG Joseph Boinnet to arrest officers who were involved in the death of three people during Cord protests.

"IG must with immediate effect, apprehend the officers involved in the shooting of protesters and arraign them in court for due process of law to take its course,"

Nyong’o said.

Noting that he is ashamed of the attitude of law enforcement agencies in Kisumu during the Monday demos, Nyong’o said police action reveals ethnic profiling of the Luo nation which has taken root in the ruling Jubilee Administration.

"This must stop! No amount of intimidation will stop Cord and the people of Kenya from taking the current IEBC home and putting in place a sound constitutional framework for democratic elections in Kenya," he said.

Earlier, the

Opposition was asked to

the demos as it may

cause more harm that good to the stability of the country.

Efforts by church leaders to broker peace between the two opposing side did not yield fruits after Cord ruled out stopping Monday protests.

On Monday, three

people were with several others injured in the encounter between the police and protesters in Siaya and Kisumu counties.

Many others were injured in Homa Bay as police battled Cord supporters who wanted to storm the IEBC offices.

Two women were reported to be in critical condition after sustaining bullet wounds.

Last week, there were

after officers were captured by cameras assaulting demonstrators in Nairobi.

The images were flashed around the globe.
