A university
union has threatened to eject UoN Vice Chancellor Peter Mbithi for failing to pay employees' risk and extraneous allowances.
Employees are still exposed to risks at the work place three years after promises were made, said Kenya Universities Staff Union

Charles Mukwaya.
Mukwaya said the Treasury disbursed more than Sh460 million in 2012
for the university to harmonise its employees' risk, extraneous and related clinical allowances.
He said the University of Nairobi management "lied" to staff about the deficit but offered its sister union the same amount.
"This was in bad faith.
We are tired of such historical injustices and now demand a complete stop to unnecessary discrimination," he said
on Thursday.
"To date many employees have not been paid their outstanding allowances. They feel discriminated against and are totally disillusioned."
Mukwaya led union members in a demonstration at the university, that saw them wave placards and twigs, and chant songs against the VC.
They present a petition on their demands which are enshrined in the 2013/17 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
"Our patience has waned and the union can no longer restrain our staff from demanding their constitutional right," he said.
He said the union will conduct protests until the management offers a solution.
Mbithi remained inside his office but agreed to sign the petition presented to his office.
