WELCOME: Deputy President William Ruto is received by Kajiado West MP Moses Sakuda and Joseph Manje (Kajiado North) at Nkoroi PcEA church yesterday.

Deputy President William Ruto has asked the legislature and the judiciary to stop bickering and deliver services to Kenyans.

Ruto said the three arms of the Government should not work in isolation of each other.“All of us serving in either the Judiciary, Legislature

or the Executive have been elected by the people to serve them as enshrined in the constitution and nothing short of that,” Ruto said.

MPs have adopted a report recommending that President Uhuru Kenyatta sets up a tribunal to investigate six members of the Judicial Service Commission. This is in disregard of court orders barring the National Assembly from passing the report. The Speaker of the National Assembly is expected to forward the MPs’ resolution to the President this week.

Speaking at Nkoroi PCEA Church in Rongai,Kajiado county yesterday,Ruto urged the two institutions to stop engaging in turf wars at the expense of Kenyans. The Deputy President said leaders must work together to solve the challenges facing the people instead of undermining each other.

“The problems between Parliament and the judiciary should be solved as soon as possible so as not to interfere with government operations,” Ruto said.He said leaders should respect the independence of the Judiciary and Parliament by appreciating the role each plays in the common goal of serving Kenyans.

The Deputy President said there should be a frame work where all leaders work together and respect each other’s institution so as to attain prosperity that Kenyans can share.“All these institutions are tasked with the same responsibility which is to serve the people,” Ruto said.“What we want is harmony. These turf wars are completely unnecessary.”
