First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Tuesday met the World Food Programme (WFP) leaders in Rome, Italy.

The First Lady met the WFP Assistant Executive Director Valerie Guarnieri and Director of the School Meals Programme Carmen Burbano.

In a statement, Mama Rachel said the talks highlighted the success of the Kenya Home Grown School Feeding Program.

She said the government has doubled beneficiaries from 1.6 million to 4 million learners.

"The Office of the First Lady complements the government's commitment to school feeding through an initiative that currently benefits over 5,200 learners," she said.
