Bungoma county director of Education Pius Ng’oma has said 54,859 learners for KPSEA)and 75, 047 for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) have started their national examinations well.

Addressing the press on Monday while opening the examination container, Ng’oma affirmed that all centre managers arrived in time to pick examinations for different schools in Bungoma.

“I have my officers on the ground manning the examination in all Bungoma schools, I have no doubt,” Ng’oma said.

Ng’oma, however, noted that the ministry of education is working with the security teams deployed in all schools to ensure no cheating happens and he also warned those planning to participate in exam leakage.

“We are going to have 24 hours surveillance in all schools to ensure that nobody takes part in exams cheating, if anybody is found taking part in exam irregularity he/she will face rough side of the law,” Ng’oma said.

Thomas Sankei, Bungoma County Commissioner, on his part decried poor roads in the areas of Mt Elgon.

“Roads in Bungoma are not in bad states except in Chepkitale in Mt Elgon, therefore those transporting the exam in the area should reach early for the candidates to begin in time,” Sankei said.
