Vihiga top student attributes good grade to hard work

Top KCPE exam pupil in Vihiga county has attributed her impressive results to hard work and support from teachers and parents.

Olsy Nyanduko Michira scored 424 marks in the just-released KCPE exam. She was a pupil at Abundant Life Academy in Cheptul, Hamisi subcounty. 

"I'm very excited for emerging the best in Vihiga county. I thank my teachers and parents for giving me full support throughout this journey," Michira said.

Nicole Zawadi from Mudasa Academy, another academic giant in the county, scored 423 marks.

Pupils, parents and teachers from the school celebrated the good results in Vihiga and Kisumu counties.

At Good Hope Academy in Hamisi, Sandra Babra scored 417 marks, Avin Ihachi (414), Ian Kiprotich (411) and Faith Ashikhuvi had 407 marks.

There were celebrations at Ebulako Primary School after Candy Omondi scored 414 marks, followed by Ramsey Olewa with 410. Ebulako is a public school in Luanda.

School head teacher Simon Simiyu congratulated the pupils for posting good results.

At Emanda Primary School, another public school in Vihiga subcounty, Oliver Injairu Luvita scored 402 marks.

Other schools that posted good results include Shaloom Academy, Mululu primary in Sabatia subcounty, Amazing Grace International in Luanda and Fadhili Star Academy also in Luanda.

County director of education Hellen Nyang’au said they are still compiling the results to get the best schools in the county, the ones that have improved the most and those that have dropped in performance.

“We are still receiving the results. Once we have all of them from the subcounties, we shall assess them to get the schools that have improved,” she said.
