Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has urged Oka principals to join Azimio la Umoja under ODM to form a formidable force that will face DP William Ruto in the coming general election.

The One Kenya Alliance comprises ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka, Kanu's Gideon Moi and Moses Wetang’ula of Ford Kenya.

Osotsi said Ruto is a force to reckon with that they need to face strategically in order to win against him.

“For that, we the people of Western and Nyanza, must put our votes in one basket as our bargaining power to send DP Ruto in Opposition,” he said.

“We can achieve that in a simple way if Mudavadi, Kalonzo Wetang’ula and Gideon join hands with Raila,” he added.

However Mudavadi, Kalonzo, Wetang’ula and Gideon have vowed to push on and appear on the ballot.

“We won’t be pushed to the wall to support other people, its our time and we must do it right for Kenyans to choose,” Mudavadi said.

The ANC party boss says OKA will not succumb to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s pressure to back Raila.

But speaking  at Ebeneza PAG Church in Wodanga, Sabatia subcounty Osotsi  said those who are pushing Musalia Mudavadi to be on the ballot want to divide Western and Nyanza votes to create space for Ruto to win.

He said Ruto’s win will send both Western and Nyanza into opposition for the next 10 years.

The legislator said Western and Nyanza have been in the political cold for the last 10 years under UhuRuto government and that they should not create space for opposition again.

The MP who is also eyeing senatorship urged Sabatia residents to consider him citing that he has the capacity to deliver for Vihiga people.

Osotsi declared interest in the senatorial seat after the incumbent George Khaniri declared interest in the governor seat.

The legislator will be facing Babira Ndeda, James Swadi and Joseph Simekha on the ballot.
