Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa has told the Luhya community to wait for his direction on whom they will vote for as president in next year's election.

He said they should wait for his announcement by December this year when he would tell the community who will form the next government.

"I will be making my announcement on who will form the next government among those vying for the presidency by December this year. So be patient," Eugene said.

He said that since 2013, he has been predicting who forms the government and the community should not doubt him. The CS said those who have been opposing his predictions have always found themselves in the opposition.

"In 2013, I predicted that Jubilee would form the government. The same happened in 2017. Those who said I was misleading the Luhya community are now in the opposition," Eugene said.

He said when he predicted that Jubilee would form the government in 2013 and 2017, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula and his ANC counterpart Musalia Madavadi dismissed him. They have been in the opposition since then, Eugene added.

The CS was speaking in Kimwanga village, Bumula, when he met residents at Mzee Alfred Marango's home.

He asked the community to heed his advice so that they are not left out in the cold when the next government takes power.

"This time round, adhere to whomever I tell you to vote for. We don't want to be in the opposition again," Eugene said.

He also asked the youth and those who had not registered as voters to do so starting next week when the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission rolls out the drive.

Eugene said they can only have a say in the government if they have the numbers.

"Our numbers will enable us to have bargaining power in the next government, so come out in large numbers and register as voters."
