Amani National Congress Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has warned Kenyans against electing angry and bitter leaders in the 2022 General Elections and beyond.

The presidential aspirant said angry leaders may make emotional decisions based on vengeance that may hurt the people.

Speaking at St Cecilia Catholic Church, Milangine in Nyandarua County, Mudavadi said such leaders were traversing the country spewing hatred and dividing people on ethnic basis or economic class.

He said the next general elections will be a transition poll and urged leaders to continue preaching peace and harmonious co-existence.

ANC leader observed that angry leaders will take the country on a different path to war instead of continuing the peace and unity that the country has enjoyed over the past decade.

“Leaders should be forging a common path of economic recovery and empowerment of our youth,” he said.

Mudavadi who was accompanied by the area Governor, Francis Kimemia and State House Controller, Kinuthia Mbugua among other leaders said politicians should protect Kenya’s interest instead of concentrating on personal gain only.

“President Uhuru Kenya has the best interest of Kenya at heart and I am sure he will ensure a peaceful transition regardless of who takes the presidency after 2022,” he said.

At the same time, Mudavadi called on Kenyans not to fall into the trap of political power brokers who are peddling rumours that Huduma Number Cards will be used as voter cards.

Mudavadi said that the claims that Huduma Namba cards will be used to vote in the 2022 general elections were going to cause voter apathy.

“A section of politicians are spreading lies to suppress voter turn-out because they are aware that a good portion of the population did not register while another one is yet to receive the cards,” he said.

further, Musadavi said that IEBC registration was the only valid voter register.

Mudavadi added that Parliament had not reviewed Elections Laws which clearly state that voter registration is by IEBC only.
