Suspect held in murder of Nakuru sex worker

Police in Nakuru are increasing patrols to protect residents because of sex-related murders.

County commissioner Joshua Nkanatha was reacting to Monday’s arrest of a suspect linked to the killing of a sex worker in Nakuru town.

“Though prostitution is not permitted under the law, the murder of people who indulge in the act will not be entertained,” he said.

Kibet Kiprop was arrested at the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital, where he had been admitted for three days.

He is believed to have killed Grace Wangare, who was found dead at Tumaini Lodging on January 8.

The body had injuries to the neck.

Ten sex workers have been murdered in Nakuru town since last year.

Two suspects were arrested but one was interrogated and freed by the CID,

The other, Aston Wachira, is on trial.
