Nandi county commissioner Matilda Sakwa has called for an audit to find out the number of rape and defilement cases in every sublocation. She said rape is high in Nandi county.

Sakwa spoke yesterday at St Lawrence Catholic Church, Chepterit. She said chiefs should not condone rape in villages. Sakwa said girls in Nandi are under constant threat from serial rapists because renegade chiefs protect suspects.
