ODM leader Raila Odinga has empathized with Kenyans over the hard economic situation during this festive season.

This is as he assured Kenyans that his end year speech would address the high cost of living.

Raila argued that bad economic policies set by the Kenya Kwanza government have made life unbearable to many Kenyans.

The policies, according to Raila, have made the majority of Kenyan citizens not enjoy Christmas and New Year as compared to other years.

He said many people are unable to undertake their normal business activities as others have collapsed because of high taxation.

“The faces of many Kenyans are gloomy this festive season due to the high cost of living. I understand the struggle Kenyans undergo as the year ends,” Raila said.

Speaking on Friday during the finals of the Opira Biannual football tournament at Ndiru primary school in Homa Bay Town constituency, Raila said his end year statement to Kenyans will tackle the current hard economy economic situation.

Raila took the opportunity to wish Homa Bay residents and other Kenyans a happy festive season.

“Sports make people healthy for life. Youths need to participate in them because they become psychologically and physically fit,” Raila said.

Wanga said they will continue standing with the ODM party leader in his political endeavours because of the sacrifices he has made for the country.

The governor argued that devolution has brought resources to the people for development on the ground, which is why they support it.

She called on Luo Nyanza residents to rally behind Raila and the ODM party and dismissed forays of other political parties in the region.

“Let’s stand behind Raila because he is the leader who has the interest of Kenyans at heart. We’ll not be a political sellout for anyone,” Wanga said.

Kaluma urged ODM elected leaders from the county to work together to realize development.

“There are leaders in the county who should be re-elected unopposed because of development projects they do for the people,” Kaluma said.
