Gem Member of Parliament Elisha Odhiambo has urged the Kenya Kwanza government to give Opposition leader Raila Odinga an international job.

By giving the Azimio leader a job, the ODM MP said it will end the political tension and chaos being witnessed in Kenya.

"Jakom (chairman) is our leader and we respect him. I have so far requested the government led by President Ruto to give him a job at the UN or AU as the coordinator of matters climate change," Elisha said on Saturday.

The lawmaker maintained that Raila lost his fifth presidential bid to President William Ruto but he still deserves to serve the world in another capacity.

Elisha suggested Raila be appointed a role at the United Nations (UN) or the African Union (AU) to coordinate matters of climate change.

The MP said that doing so, it will be an honorable way of dealing with the Raila factor in Kenyan politics and at the same time quelling political tension.

Going further, the vocal lawmaker also suggested that the Opposition roles could be left to Wiper party boss Kalonzo Musyoka and Narc Kenya leader, Martha Karua.

Elisha said the two can occupy the office of official opposition leader which he claimed will be created from the looming bi-partisan talks between government and opposition sides.

At least four youths from Gem Constituency succumbed to bullet wounds following the recent anti-government protests that had been called by Raila.

Two of whom were buried on  Saturday with ODM party leader Raila paying his last respect to David Omondi, 34, at his Ahono home in East Gem Ward.

Raila used the interment occasion to tongue-lash the government for it's alleged support for police brutality, maintaining that those who perished were peaceful and unarmed during the protests.

The opposition veteran also threatened another wave of demonstrations in 30 days if at all the government side will fail to give the looming talks the seriousness that it deserves.
