Following the heavy rains witnessed across the county, the locals were affected by floods with the water surroundings most of the homes, while others could not even access their houses.

The Senator's county office manager Simon Peter said they received information about the catastrophic flood incident on Tuesday night from the locals.

Peter said once they received the information, they decided to look for resources to help the affected.

He said they first talked to some youths and engaged about 20 of them to clear the drainage to allow water to pass through and not further spill through the villages.

"We as an office are going to support the youths to ensure that in a small way using their local tools they can ensure that the damage is reduced".

The team distributed blankets to the elderly, pregnant women and young mothers.

Others items distributed include Maize flour, sugar and Bar soaps.

Martin Omondi a local within the area said the issue of the floods within the area is a matter known by the government.

He said they want action taken to assist the community.

"We will also not allow leaders who come to ask for votes with this issue of water yet they do nothing. we want this matter to be addressed".

Locals who benefited from the donations requested sleeping nets and boots to easily move through the water saying with the rains in place, they dont know when the water will go down.
