Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga has asked Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa to have an agenda for Bungoma instead of attacking people every time he addresses the public.

Eugene is backing DAP-K candidate Jack Wamboka in Bumula constituency in the August polls.

However, Mwambu said his track record speaks for itself, adding that he is ready to compete with all his opponents.

“My opponents have no agenda for voters. Their work is to move around at night criticising my job. They should come up with solutions,” Mwambu said.

The MP spoke at Mateka Primary School during the launch of seven classrooms funded by Constituency Development Fund.

Mwambu also criticised Bungoma politician Mukhisa Kituyi for announcing that he will run for presidency only to shelve his ambition to back Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

The MP said Mukhisa won’t deliver votes to Raila.

The legislator also trashed the opinion polls going around, saying that Raila is ahead with more than 60 per cent while Ruto is at below 40 per cent, arguing that the Kenya Kwanza team has done enough campaigns.

"There is no place that Ruto hasn’t reached to sell the bottom- up economic model,” he said, adding that Ruto will beat Raila at the ballot.

Mwambu said the President Uhuru Kenyatta-Raila handshake has resulted in a hard economic life for citizens.

He asked the region to back Ruto’s presidential bid, saying the DP has visited the region many times and supported boda boda youth start Saccos.

He further faulted Wamboka and Eugene for moving in the constituency and launching non-existent projects.

“Recently they came to Bumula and launched an NHIF programme that isn’t working," he said.

"I want to ask my friend Wamalwa to use his docket as the Defense CS to help our sons and daughters get into the military instead of coming here to criticise the work of others.”
