Kisumu Roads executive nominee to be vetted by MCAs

Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o has nominated former nominated MCA Faridah Salim as the Roads executive.

The position fell vacant following the exit of Joyce Osogo who is eyeing the Homa Bay woman representative in the August polls.

Salim's name has been submitted to the county assembly for consideration.

In an advert in the local dailies last week, the assembly clerk said Salim will appear before the appointment committee on March 15.

The matter was tabled before the assembly on March 3 and committed to the appointment committee.

Salim, who is also a member of the Kisumu city board said she is up to the task and humbled to have been honoured and trusted with the position.

She said once in office, she will do her best not to disappoint the governor.

Salim said her nomination is a boost to women leadership.
