Federal Party of Kenya supporters in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia are in a dilemma after their leader, Andrew Kutitila, joined the Democratic Action Party of Kenya at the weekend.

Kutitila said he decided to join DAP-K associated with Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa after consultations with members.

Kutilila said Eugene assisted him when he lost elections and it was his turn to support him.

“When I lost elections, he gave me a job in Nairobi. Therefore, I can't continue being in a different party. We must walk together,” he said.

He said DAP-K was becoming popular in Bungoma and Trans Nzioa and he should not be left out.

Speaking at Amagoro during a football tournament, Kutitila thanked Wamalwa for supporting him during his time of need.

It’s not known whether the party will wind up or not.

DAP-K leader MP Wafula Wamunyinyi has been on the harvesting spree and has received defectors from Ford Kenya, Jubilee and ODM.

Wamunyinyi and Wamalwa, who received Kutitila, lauded his "bold move".

The Kanduyi MP said DAP-K was the party to watch in the two counties.

“The party has been receiving defectors since its inception and I am sure in August, it will be more strong,” he said.

Wamunyinyi said more people were joining the party because they have "a lot of faith" in its leadership.

He said the party will be transparent in its operations.

The other prominent person who has joined the party is former Kanduyi MP Alfred Khang'ati.

Eugene asked Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula and his ANC counterpart Musalia Mudavadi to join Azimio la Umoja or continue being in the cold.

He said he has been prophesying on who the next president will be since 2013 without going wrong.

“The next president will be Raila Odinga and my two brothers should join him, if they wanted to be in the next government,” Eugene said.

He said the two should stop pretending and make their decision known.
