"We have been going around several counties and helping them with money and equipment because we know the Covid-19 pandemic has hit all the counties and hence help is needed," Mozzartbet manager Sasa Krneta said when he made the donation on Friday.
The Nyamira county government has benefitted from a Sh3 million donation from Mozzartbet to help combat the spread of Covid-19.
The betting firm also donated hospital equipment including PPEs to the county government.
"We have been going around several counties and helping them with money and equipment because we know the Covid-19 pandemic has hit all the counties and hence help is needed," Mozzartbet manager Sasa Krneta said when he made the donation on Friday.
Nyamira health executive Gladys Momanyi said the funds and equipment will help hospitals across the county.
"As a county, we are so grateful that our health facilities will now be fully stocked with drugs, thanks to Mozzartbet. All we need is to be ready as a department in fighting the pandemic that has really caused panic among our people," Momanyi said.
Health chief officer Jack Magara said the equipment will be distributed across all facilities.
"In addition to what we received today, the department is making plans to have more drugs, equipment and infrastructure upgrade so that our people can access good healthcare," he said.
The equipment that was donated to the county include wheelchairs, beds, mattresses, PPEs and masks.
In his speech read by Momanyi, Governor Amos Nyaribo appreciated the partnership with various organisations in the health sector and assured residents of his commitment to improving services.
“The county government greatly appreciates the donations made by different partners since the first case of Covid-19 was reported in our county. I thank Mozzartbet for donating the PPEs, wheelchairs, beds, mattresses to help in the response,” Nyaribo said.
