Security officers in Homa Bay are looking for a cop who allegedly assaulted and pricked his wife's genital parts with nails.

The officer attached to a police station in Kuria East constituency in Migori is said to have assaulted the 32-year-old woman on Thursday night at Kabuor village in  East Kamagak, Kasipul constituency.

It is reported that the husband returned home at night and began scrutinizing the call log on his wife's phone.

He found suspicious calls from a primary school deputy headteacher in the area after which he suspected the lady was involved in a love affair with the man.

A neighbour said the officer asked why there were many calls from the teacher but the lady defended herself saying they were discussing education matters.

“The officer started assaulting the woman saying he was not convinced by the defence,” the neighbour said.

On Saturday, the woman’s father A. O said his daughter was assaulted and she is undergoing serious pain.

“It’s wrong for an officer who understands the law to do such a thing. I am worried he may kill her,” he said.

The matter was reported to Oyugis Police Station before the woman was taken to Rachuonyo South Level 4 Hospital for medical examination.

Rachuonyo South deputy county commissioner David Kiprop said they are looking for the officer and are going to take legal action against him.

“We are following the matter keenly because what the man is alleged to have done is inhuman. Those who know his whereabouts should report to us,” Kiprop said.

He asked couples to come up with acceptable actions when solving their marital issues.

“You can even send the lady back home so that you discuss the matter with her parents if you can’t handle it in your family,” he said.
