Kisumu MCAs have protested Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o’s nominees to the Public Service Board, saying some communities were left out.

Gard Olima (South West Nyakach), George Ogutu (West Nyakach), Rashid Miruka (North Nyakach), and Johnson Guya (South East Nyakach) said the list lacked regional balancing.

Olima asked Nyong’o to reconsider the list so it reflects the face of the county.

He said they will reject the nominees if their demands are not considered.

"We feel shortchanged in the appointments. Some regions, particularly Nyakach, have been sidelined in county jobs,” Olima said.

The list of six nominees was presented to the assembly Labour Committee on Wednesday for vetting.

Nyong'o's press unit director Aloice Ager denied the claims by the MCAs saying the nominations considered regional balance.

He said the governor was convinced the nominees have the capacity to deliver on their mandate, adding the process was rigorous.
