Lagdera MP Mohamed Shidiye has
urged the national government to restore
law and order on the Isiolo-Garissa
border following a spate of killings
involving the Boranas and the
Somalis.
More than 10 people have been
killed in the past month and hundreds displaced.
Livestock has also been stolen.
Speaking in Garissa town, Shidiye
said the crisis might worsen.
The source of the confl ict is said to
be the scramble for pasture and water,
with each community accusing the
other of invading its territory.
The latest incident was on Saturday
morning, when a group of Borana militias
raided Tana village, 70km from
Garbatula town towards Isiolo South,
and shot dead two brothers,
Yusuf
Dubow and Abdi Dubow.
