THE Kitui Lands docket has been ranked the poorest in performance.
Executive Paul Kioko’s department was ranked last out of the 11 departments.
The second to last performing department was the county secretary’s office.
The positions are outlined in Governor Julius Malombe’s 2014-15 performance evaluation ranking.
Malombe read the reports on Saturday during the County Contract Performance Awards and end of year party at Ithookwe Showground.
County secretary Stanslous Nyamai was caught up in corruption allegations and was interdicted on December 11.
The Finance department headed by Simon Mundu was ranked best performing.
Position two was the Health department headed by Ruth Koki.
Third was Education under Pennina Kilonzi.
The three top performers received trophies and certificates.
Malombe said all workers in the top performing departments will get prizes.
He said workers in the Finance department will have 25 per cent more in their December salaries.
Those in Health will get an eighth more, while those in Education will get an extra 1/12 net salary boost.
The governor said the evaluation and ranking was carried out by independent experts from the Devolution ministry.
On December 11, the governor sent home county secretary Stanslous Nyamai, Kioko and chief officers Grace Muimi (Finance), Emma Kitemange (Culture) and Evans Muno (Health).
Malombe said the officers were associated with taking bribes and inflating prices of projects for personal gain.
He asked the five officials to quit office immediately.
Malombe said he will constitute a committee that will oversee the investigation of the allegations made against the five and that necessary action will be taken depending on the outcome of the investigations.
He warned those implicated in corrupt practices who are still in his government to clear their names or face the sack.
Mwingi Youth Development Forum, a youth group, said it fully supports Malombe in the crackdown on corrupt officers.
The statement was signed by the group’s patron Mike Muli and officials Peter Muya and Esther Ngina.
They said the interdiction of the officers shows Malombe is determined to confront graft head-on and improve services.
