Defilement of pupils and students is rampant in Embu county, former Transport and Communication PS Cyrus Njiru has said.
Njiru, who is the of the Embu County Professionals’ Forum chairman, yesterday said the few teachers who have sex with their students are tainting the teaching profession.
He said he feels hurt when he regularly reads in the media about local teachers being arrested or beaten up by mobs for defiling their own students.
