Mbeeere South MP Mutava Musyimi has condemned Tana and Athi Development Authority for "inhumanely" trying to evict settlers at the Seven Forks hydroelectricity dams.

He claims the authority, which manages the land where the dams are located, has given the settlers two weeks to vacate.

The settlers have been living on the land for more than 40 years.

Musyimi said the provincial administration, acting on behalf of the Authority, has warned the settlers of forcible eviction if they do not leave.

He was speaking at Gategi village after attending the burial of Luisa Musyoka on Friday.

“It’s totally wrong and unacceptable for people who has lived somewhere for 40 years to be evicted like goats. We will not accept this ruthlessness,” Musyimi said.
