Police are investigating the murder of a man whose chopped body parts were found stuffed in a sack and dumped in a water canal in Kayole, Nairobi.

Police believe the scene was a secondary one but they are yet to establish where he was killed.

Police say they are yet to know the motive and the identity of the man.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said the man’s head had injuries and there were no palms of both hands.

The torso was also missing at the scene when police were called on Saturday.

Bungei said there were no blood stains there indicating the man was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene.

“Efforts to recover the other missing body parts are ongoing as we investigate the incident. It is pure murder,” he said.

The body parts were moved to the mortuary pending identification and further probe.

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man was killed in a fire incident in his house in Kariobangi, Nairobi.

The body of Junior Nganga was discovered in his house long after the fire broke out.

The man had locked his door from inside and when neighbours saw smoke emanating from the house they could not access it.

Police said the locals broke into the house and found all household goods burnt before they stumbled on the body of Nganga in the sitting room.

The cause of the fire is yet to be known. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.

And a man died after a machine he was operating crushed him.

Police said Elijah Mwangi was at work operating a machine at his recycling plastic plant in Lucky Summer area when he fell down and incurred a deep cut at the back of his head on Sunday evening.

He was rushed to a local hospital where succumbed to the injury while receiving treatment.

Police say they are investigating the incident.
