Kamba professionals in Kwale county want dialogue with hopefuls from all ethnic groups so they can share seats through negotiated democracy.

Led by Peter Muthiani, they said yesterday that they want fair representation. The community is the third largest in the county after the Durumas and Digos. Its votes are crucial in deciding the outcomes on Election Day, especially the governor’s race.

The professionals called for unity and peace among the ethnic groups living in Kwale. “Time has come for all tribes in the area to dialogue. We have come up with a forum that will engage our neighbours and other tribes represented in the county. We will embrace a negotiated democracy on issues of governance,” Muthiani said.

They said dialogue will allow an equitable sharing of seats and create an environment conducive to peace and unity.
