Sports tourism, which involves observing or participating in sporting events, is gradually gaining momentum in Kenya, CS Hassan Wario (pictured) has said.

He said Kenya has positioned itself to receiving guests interested in athletics, golf, rugby and other sports. “Currently the numbers are still negligible, but the government is committed to develop this sector,” Wario said on Tuesday.

He spoke at Vipingo Ridge, Kilifi. Vipingo Ridge attracts golfing tourists.
