The Kilifi government is set to build a modern rescue centre at the Kaya Godoma for Sh7 million.
Culture director Ishmael Kalume said the funds are meant to give the centre a facelift.
Speaking at the centre on Friday, Kalume said they are determined to give elders a decent life before integrating them back to their communities.
The centre was started in 2008 by Mangi Mitsanze as a rescue centre for elders who fled their homes to escape lynching after being accused of witchcraft.
