ODM is controlling the Cord coalition, Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani has said.

The MP was kicked out of the National Assembly’s House Business Committee on Tuesday over close ties with Jubilee.

Mwashetani, Ford Kenya’s deputy leader, said his party should have been the one to meet and make such resolutions.

He said ODM is acting like a mouthpiece for other coalition parties.

“I have no problem with being removed from a parliamentary committee,” he told the press in Malindi yesterday.

“We were elected as leaders to bring development, and a party cannot stop us from doing so.”

Present were MPs Gideon Mung’aro of Kilifi North, Mustafa Iddi of Kilifi South and Peter Shehe of Ganze.

Mwashetani said working with Jubilee has helped him get a Sh400 million water project and a fishing port.

ODM chairman John Mbadi issued warning letters on January 21 to Mung’aro and Iddi for campaigning for JAP’s candidate in the March 7 Malindi MP by-election.
