Police in Mosocho, Kisii County are investigating an incident where a 60-year-old man was found committing an indecent act with a dog.

The man's wife reported the case to Mosocho police station after he caught him in the act on Sunday night.

She reported that she was in the house when she heard their dog, named Poster, howling and wailing more than usual at around 1.00 am.

The wife said that when she went outside to investigate the reason for the noise, she was shocked to find her husband engaged in what the police have described as an 'unnatural offence' with their female dog.

She alerted the neighbours and the rest of the family who also came to witness the incident before police were called to the scene.

The offender is said to have been arrested and is facing charges of bestiality.

Police also report that Poster was taken to a veterinary officer to receive treatment as investigations in the case continue.

Bestiality, also known as unnatural acts, is considered a felony in the Constitution of Kenya.

According to Section 162 (b) of the Penal Code, a person found guilty of having carnal knowledge of an animal can be imprisoned for up to 14 years.

Additionally, Section 163 stipulates that anyone attempting to commit any unnatural offence is liable for imprisonment for 7 years.
