Kirinyaga Jubilee party chairman Muriithi Kang'ara has hailed Azimio la Umoja proposal for dialogue akin to the 2008 National Accord.

He said negotiations should not take a parliamentary approach so that they can be inclusive and accommodate leaders from diverse fields.

Kang'ara further urged that all members to be incorporated in the talks must put the interests of the nation first and undertake the exercise in utmost sobriety.

"The mediation team should accommodate members from diverse fields especially the religious leaders who carry the voices of reason. We don't want situations of chest thumping and bias. All we want is the solution towards fostering unity and resolving the matter at hand,"he said.

At the same time, he urged all Mt Kenya leaders to take advantage of the mediation talks to root for the passage of the one man, one vote, one shilling proposal.

He said this would be the opportune time to push for the implementation of the proposal which he noted will go a long way in resolving issues of resource allocation.

"It is regrettable that parents have had to scramble for bursaries for their children and some have lost their lives in the process, just as it recently happened in Ruiru," he said.

"I, therefore, want to challenge our leaders to push for the implementation of the proposal because BBI which had carried such crucial suggestions flopped."

Kang'ara further condemned the invasion of former President Uhuru Kenyatta's Northlands farm urging President William Ruto to order a thorough probe into the matter.

He called on President Ruto to follow in the footsteps of his predecessors by protecting and guarding the properties of all ex-presidents in accordance with the law.
