Two men were Monday arraigned before a Kerugoya law court after being linked to the death of a Kirinyaga University student.
Erick Gitonga and Elias Murimi are the key suspects in the murder of Collins Kipchumba Kimeto who by the time of his death, was a second year student at the institution pursuing an undergraduate course in software engineering.
The two, on the wee morning hours of June 10, within Kutus town, are suspected to have ambushed Kimeto and his girlfriend while they were heading to their hostels.
Besides robbing them of their two mobile phones, the accused are said to have inflicted severe head injuries on Kimeto by way of a hammer which, despite being rushed to a neighbouring hospital, eventually caused his death.
