Movement at Nyambare town in Lari constituency is set to improve once the Kiambu government tarmacs its roads.

Lari/Kirenga MCA Joseph Karichu said the centre will undergo significant transformation. He said it has a newly built market and a milk processing plant. It will also have a drainage system to boost hygiene.

The MCA thanked Governor James Nyoro for having a better work plan to improve the working conditions of traders and finishing development projects.

“The tarmacking of the town is at a tendering stage. Once the government gets a better contractor, the town will be tarmacked. This is a project I have been following up on. Businesses will change, we shall tarmac roads and drainages and hygiene will improve” he said.

The MCA said traders will be moved to the new market when Kamandura-Mau Summit road works start as they currently operate in an area earmarked for highway expansion.

The road project is aimed at expanding the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

He spoke at a funeral service for Maria Njehia, the mother of Kirenga chief Tabby Njeri, in Nyambare village. Former MPs Njuguna Kiburi and Mburu Kahangara were among those present.

The MCA declared he will face off against Kiburu and Kahangara for the Lari parliamentary seat in the 2022 general election.

Kahangara called for mature politics that will not incite residents to chaos, saying they need one another before, during and after elections.

He said he had done a lot of work for residents and only lost because he did not get the Jubilee Party ticket.

“It is not that I was not working. I lost the JP ticket during party nominations. A lot of my projects are being witnessed by many people. I will be in the race again,” Kahangara said.
