Nyandarua MCAs have affirmed their support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in his effort to unite the country.
They say they have submitted fully to the wishes of the electorate that the President must be respected and given space to work without unproductive divisive politics.
“We are opposed especially to Tangatanga politics being preached around,” majority leader Edinald King’ori said
He said Uhuru shall remain the Mt Kenya kingpin who “shall tell us where we shall go.”
King'ori said Mt Kenya leaders, engaging in politics at the expense of development, need to ask themselves why this is not happening in other regions.
The MCAs spoke a few days after Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia made a similar statement during the crowning of a Kikuyu king in Lari, Kiambu county, on Saturday.
Majority chief whip Wangari Methu said the handshake between Uhuru and ODM chief Raila Odinga has ensured peace and stability in the country.
“We urge all the elected leaders to be accountable. They should stop 2022 politics because Wanjiku is only interested in development. Kenyans do not care what will happen in 2022," she said
