A Nairobi court yesterday summoned the officer in charge of Industrial Area Prison to explain why he has not taken a suspect to hospital as ordered. This involves the George Muchai robbery case.
The case came up for mentioning before Milimani chief magistrate Francis Andayi. Accused Stephen Lipapo, alias Chokore, complained he had not been taken to hospital as ordered by the court.
The magistrate said the first order was issued to the prison officer last month.

The officer is expected to appear this morning to explain why he has not complied.
Lipapo is among seven suspects, who have denied several counts of violently robbing Muchai, his two bodyguards and a driver three years ago. Muchai, his driver and two bodyguards were killed by gunmen on Kenyatta Avenue on February 7, 2015.
All the accused persons are also facing murder charges at the High Court, where they are accused of murdering the former Kabete MP, his two bodyguards – Police Constables Samuel Kimathi and Samuel Lekakeny — and driver Stephen Wambugu.
They are said to have committed the offence on the night of February 6- 7, 2015,

on Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi county.
They are accused of stealing two pistols loaded with 30 bullets and a briefcase, whose contents are yet to be known.
Still in the robbery case, they are also charged with robbing Michael Gituto of his vehicle and other personal property, all valued at Sh416,000 on February 6, 2015, along Waiyaki Way, Nairobi.
They are also accused of robbing Gladys Waithera of her motor vehicle and other property worth more than Sh600,000 on the same night at Green Belt estate in Kiambu county.
They are accused of robbing Irene Wambui her property valued at Sh15,000 on the same night.
They are further charged with being in possession a pistol and bullets without certificate.
During the last hearing, prosecution witness Ronald Nyangares, a newspaper vendor, told the court that Muchai, his two bodyguards and the driver were killed by one armed robber, who sprayed them
with eight bullets.
