Nyeri woman representative aspirant Rahab Mukami has urged youth to go for jua kali jobs, instead of waiting for white collar jobs.

She said it is important for the youth to try their hand in technical jobs.

“We need workers in electrical, plumbing and carpentry. Let the youth create jobs instead of waiting for the government to help them," Mukami said.

She said it is high time the youth venture in jua kali because they have the time and energy.

Mukami said they can start their own income-generating projects.

She urged the youth, people living with disability and women to take advantage of the 30 per cent tenders reserved for them.

Mukami, who was speaking to journalists in Nyeri town on yesterday, urged MPs to pass the two-thirds gender bill.
