Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau has told Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wairia to stop blaming him and Senator Kembi Gitura over his woes with the anti-graft agency.

Kamau said Wairia should carry his own cross and answer queries on embezzlement of government funds.

The MP accused Wairia

of acting with impunity by condoning attack on Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission officials by his supporters.

The supporters reportedly snatched files and other documents from the officials who raided the governor’s Gatanga home last Thursday morning in search of vital documents connecting him to a number of corruption allegations.

“By hiring goons to attack the EACC officials, the governor is showing openly there is something he is trying to hide," Kamau said.

He was speaking in Muiri-ini Mixed Secondary School in Kandara on Friday where he accompanied MP Alice Wahome to commission a tuition block built by the CDF.

Kamau described the governor’s action as shameful to the people of Murang’a and accused him of planning to cause bloodshed in the county.

“I have had enough of his attacks, including one during a visit by the Deputy President, which I played cool. But I'm telling him I am mature in politics and not a coward. I am willing and ready to contest against him in 2017," he said.

"We know he is looking for sympathy, but Murang'a people are wiser.”

Kamau accused Murang’a county commissioner Kulla Hache of failing to maintain security and tame the "errant governor and his goons".

He said Hache is abetting violence and should be transferred immediately.

“The county commissioner has refused to listen to the advice of Murang'a leaders, even as insecurity continues to escalate," Kamau said.

Wahome accused Wairia of playing politics by blocking the pursuit of justice and accountability.

“This kind of leadership has never been witnessed in Murang'a. The EACC and the Senate have a role to play since the report by the Auditor General about Murang'a government expenditure is in the public domain," she said.

Wahome said no one has the monopoly of violence and Wairia is panicky after sensing defeat in next year’s polls.
