AfDB to host forum on agribusiness on May 22-26 in India

The African Development Bank will hold a major forum on agribusiness in India between May 22 and 26, the pan-African development lender has announced.

The bank said the forum in Ahmadabad will discuss how agriculture can be transformed to enhance wealth creation. AfDB said agriculture was an important economic sector for Africa given its significant in poverty alleviation, food security and economic transformation. “The Bank has committed to invest $24 billion (Sh2.48 trillion) towards agriculture in the next 10 years, with sharp focus on food self-sufficiency.”
