Kenya Lionesses head coach Dennis Mwanja will make four changes for the third Challenger Sevens Series in Poland in May.

A visibly disappointed Mwanja said the changes are key in their quest for a top-four finish, especially after bagging just six points at the Montevideo leg over the weekend.

Lionesses are fifth with 24 points. China are top of the standings with 40 points followed by Argentina (34), Uganda (28) and Belgium (28).

"We are looking at four changes to the squad. We will be without the Japan-based duo of Janet Okello and Grace Adhiambo who will not be released by their clubs. The other two did not play to my expectations in South America,” said Mwanja, the KCB assistant coach.

They will have intense sessions when they resume training next week.

“From a physical and tactical standpoint, we have to go back to the drawing board and address the frailties (defensive, set-piece and casual approach to matches) we saw in Uruguay," said Mwanja.

"We must be sharp mentally and physically for the final leg in Poland in May."

Mwanja's charges began the tournament on the wrong note, losing 12-0 to Hong Kong China, beating Papua New Guinea 29-12 and then losing 21-10 to Belgium.

They, however, qualified for the quarterfinals as the best losers.

Kenya lost 24-7 to China in the last eight and 27-22 in the seventh-place classification match Hong Kong China.

Mwanja targets the final in Poland to increase their chances of playing in the fourth and final leg in Madrid in June.

The Lionesses lost 17-7 to China in the final of the opening leg in Dubai in January.
