Kenya Simbas hopes of qualification to the Rugby World Cup are over after a 85-0 thrashing at the hands of Portugal in the repechage today.

However, there but was to be no repeat this time around as the Europeans seized the lead from the start.

Thibault de Freitas, Mike Tadjer, Manuel Pinto Jose Lima and Vincent Pinto scored a try apiece with Samuel Marqueas adding five conversions for a 35-0 lead.

On resumption, matters went from bad to worse when lock Brian Juma was sent off for a second yellow card.

Portugal capitalised on the numerical advantage as Tadjer, Tomas Appelton, Jose Andrade, Joao Belo and Lionel Campergue completed the scoring. Portugal top the group with 10 points.
