Squad rotation will be key for Kabras if they are to make an impact in the Kenya Cup next season.

The Kakamega-based side could be without eight senior players when the league kickoffs on November 27 as most of them will be with Kenya Simbas for test matches in South Africa.

Head coach Dominique Habimana said the earliest the players could return after rest and recovery protocol could be January, adding that there is need to utilise the squad depth wisely before their return.

"We have fairly big squad and for the first four matches of the season, we will have to juggle our resources and ensure we are competitive in all fixtures,"  he noted

The 2019 Enterprise Cup champions are in Pool 'B' of the Kenya Cup and open their campaign against Blak Blad on November 27 followed thereafter by match against Nakuru on December 4. They then face  tricky ties against Mwamba and Impala before breaking for Christmas and New Year.

The sugar millers have already done six weeks of pre-season and the coach's plans for the next season are already taking shape.

"The boys are getting into shape and working hard. We still have another month or so and by the time the season kicks off, We will be in good shape,” added Habimana.

The former Kenya Simbas, Nakuru and Quins coach expects four teams to be in contention for the league crown despite the dominance of KCB and Kabras over the years.

"Every year, the league improves and with the emergence of teams like Oilers, Strathmore, Quins, Impala and Nondies,  it promises to be an  exciting campaign," he noted.
