AFC Leopards head coach Thomas Trucha was not satisfied with his team’s display despite a 3-0 win over PAC University in an FKF Cup Round of 32 encounter at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi.

The Czech gaffer wondered why it took the Kenyan Premier League giants 40 minutes to make a breakthrough against resilient lower-tier opponents.

“I think we should have won the match by a bigger margin if we had made good use of the opportunities we created,” Trucha remarked.

“It was a difficult match just as I had predicted and I must single out our opponents for praise because they gave a good account of themselves.”

PAC University tactician Moses Cheburet conceded defeat, saying they crashed to a better side.

“The stage was just too big for us and we value all the lessons we have gathered from this tough match. We contained our opponents in the initial minutes but some goalkeeping howlers proved costly as the match wore on,” Cheburet remarked.

“Football is all about positional discipline and our opponents were better in this aspect of the game.”

Newly acquired Rwandese striker Arthur Gitego scored a hat-trick (40th, 48th, 77th minutes) to seal the win.

Tusker also booked a ticket in the Round of 16 after a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Kwale-based Bumbani Stars FC at the Ukunda Showground on Sunday.

Goals from Daniel Sakari and Eric Zakayo on either side of the interval gave Tusker a crucial 2-1 win over Bumbani Stars at Ukunda Showground in Kwale.

Saidi Zama scored a consolation for the hosts from the penalty spot 20 minutes to final whistle.

Experienced goal-poacher Johnmark Makwatta’s 82nd-minute effort was all Kariobangi Sharks needed to cruise past Nyamira Super Eagles at Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho in Kisii.

Ulinzi Stars hammered Harvest of Hope Africa 2-0 at Mumias Sports Complex. Boniface Muchiri broke the deadlock nine minutes into the encounter and Masita Masuta doubled the advantage 11 minutes later.

Champions Kakamega Homeboyz’ title defence got off to a flying start after a comfortable 2-0 win over Solian City at Solian Girls High School.
