Kisumu All Stars are optimistic of promotion chances to the Kenya Premier League despite a barren draw with Luanda Villa over the weekend.

Ben Basolo, chief executive officer, said they plan to intensify their preparations for their upcoming match in Mombasa.

He, however, expressed disappointment with the goal-less draw match at Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Saturday despite their high expectations.

Basolo attributed the draw to the opponent's strong defence in the Round 20 of the National Super League.

“The team was prepared for a win, but the opponent proved unyielding. Nevertheless, we will prepare well for the next match,” he said.

Basolo said they hope to capitalise on the second leg, which is yet to start to realise their dream.

“We still have more time and opportunities to return to the Premier League. Our players and coaching team are committed to achieving our goal,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rainbow FC secured a 4-2 win against Kajiado during a thrilling match in Thika, their fourth consecutive victory.

Kajiado took the early lead through Erick Ombija in the 18th minute before Rainbow FC responded through Steiner Musasia's equaliser and netted the second goal before halftime.

Ali Salim and Paul Jawa secured the lead for Rainbow FC, while Erick Ombija's late goal in the 83rd minute proved insufficient for Kajiado.
