Kenya Police head coach Zdravko Logarusic has hinted at plans to tinker with his rich lineup in the coming transfer window.

The law enforcers have been blowing hot and cold despite plunging vast resources into the last transfer window to acquire the top cream of Kenyan football.

Despite boasting the highest number of players in the national team, Harambee Stars, Police are placed in the middle of the table at ninth position with 21 points, 10 adrift of leaders Gor Mahia.

Logarusic’s charges experienced a plain sailing season since his appointment two months ago until last Saturday when they crashed in their backyard.

They suffered a major setback to their title aspirations following a heart-wrenching 2-1 loss to third-placed KCB at the Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday.

Logarusic reckons time is ripe for the club to rummage through the upcoming mid-season transfer window for quality players who can effectively step into the shoes of veterans currently in their sunset years.

“The reality has finally dawned on us that some of our players are past their prime and experiencing a downturn in their performance. We are about to implement some drastic changes to our squad and you will be seeing some new faces in January,” Logarusic remarked.

He said he would be casting his peering beyond the topflight stage to rope in players who possess the mojo to steer the club to the desired heights.

The outspoken gaffer said their surprise defeat to KCB in their last outing was mainly due to juvenile howlers his charges committed in the game they should have easily won.

“We had spent a whole week strategizing for the match only to be let down by players who committed silly errors. We were up against a well-organised side that capitalised on the chances they created to wrap up the game in their favour. We could have carried the day if we had been keen enough to avoid mistakes and utilise our chances,” he added.

However,  he believes they have the prerequisite aptitude to turn around their fortunes when they face multiple champions Tusker in their next league assignment.

“Our next opponents are Tusker and they are coming to this match on the back of a win so we are expecting a tough encounter.

“I’ve discussed with my players and reiterated the need to bounce back strongly in the match. It’s something we can easily achieve given we had a good record before our loss to KCB, having collected maximum points from three games in the last five matches,” he added.
