Three seasons after gaining promotion to the top-flight stage, Kenya Police FC are growing from strength to strength.

The arrival of Zdravko Logarusic as head coach earlier in the year has injected some zest into the talent-laden squad who now have their sights firmly trained on a maiden Kenyan Premier League title.

The law enforcers currently place seventh in the country’s cutthroat top-tier league with 21 points, only seven shy of leader Gor Mahia.

But the club’s success is not by mere coincidence. The unsung hero behind Police FC’s meteoric rise is the club’s chairman Nyale Munga Senior, Assistant Inspector General of Kenya Police, and the Police Commandant at Kiganjo.

Nyale, a brilliant and no-nonsense man, has his eyes set on transforming the law enforcement continental champions.

He reckons the club possesses the mojo to scale the heights of continental giants Yanga SC, Al Ahly, and Memolodi Sundowns from Tanzania, Egypt, and South Africa respectively.

Speaking recently during the club’s partnership dinner at Ole Sereni Hotel, Inspector Nyale said the all-encompassing changes will drive the much-desired growth.

His sentiments were also echoed by the club’s deputy patron Douglas Kanja, the country’s deputy Inspector General of Police.

“We want the club to excel in all areas, both on and off the pitch. Kenya Police FC are the team to watch in the region’s soccer scene,” Kanja remarked.

The club is patronised by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration Raymond Omollo who is deputised by the DIG with Mr. Nyale at the helm of driving the day-to-day operations of the South C-based outfit.

Only recently, the club acquired former Kenya Women’s Premier League champions, Thika Queens in line with fresh demands by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) requiring all top-flight clubs to own women and youth teams.

Renamed Kenya Police Bullets FC, the women’s team currently coached by Harambee Starlets gaffer Beldine Odemba continues to assert authority in the league. The club has a robust Under-18 squad that is domiciled at Kiganjo National Police Training College.
